The Etel Adnan Poetry Prize will open September 1, 2025. 

The Etel Adnan Poetry Prize offers a $2,000 prize and publication by Noemi Press in the United States and Out-Spoken Press in the United Kingdom for a first or second full-length poetry collection written by a poet of Arab heritage. Submissions, which must be between 48-90 pages and in English, are made online through the Submittable system. The entry fee is $25, and the deadline is September 30, 2025. 

Key Eligibility & Submission Guidelines

  • Eligibility: The prize is for a first or second book of poetry. 
  • Heritage: Authors must be of Arab heritage. 
  • Manuscript: The manuscript must be in English, a first or second book, and 48-90 pages in length. 
  • Previous Publications: Individual poems may have been published in journals, anthologies, or chapbooks. 
  • Simultaneous Submissions: Manuscripts under consideration or competition elsewhere are allowed, provided you notify the organizers immediately if they are accepted elsewhere. 
  • Entry Fee: A $25 fee is required for submissions. 
  • Judges: The 2025 Guest Judge is Farid Matuk.


The Noemi Press Book Award will open January 3, 2026.
